Setting DMX Address on a Martin MH1

Updated on

When swapping an MH1, the DMX address must be set correctly in order for the light to respond correctly. this article will bring you through how we suggest setting the DMX address, in case a Central Tech Team member is not available to help in person.

1. Look on the front screen of the MH1 to be swapped and verify the current DMX address. Write it down!

Already swapped the light? That is okay!

Select the fixture in Jands Vista in the "Fixture Chooser" view. Then navigate to the Patch view and look for the highlighted fixture. The first number that is highlighted is the DMX address that we need to punch in on the fixture.

2. Once the fixture is swapped, navigate to the "DMX Functions" section of the menu.

If the screen is upside down, hit the menu button and use the arrow keys(which will respond as inverted) to scroll to "Display settings".

Hit the enter button to enter the menu, scroll to "Invert Display" and hit enter again. Scroll up or down until the screen is oriented correctly. Press the menu button until the main menu is showing once again

Press the menu button on the front of the fixture. Hit enter to select the "DMX Functions" option.

3. Select DMX Functions and set the address

Use the arrow keys to set the DMX address. Holding an arrow key speeds up the addressing process significantly.

4. Press enter to lock in the DMX address.

5. Press menu repeatedly until you see the main screen.
