No Video on Loop/Konnect Projector

Updated on

This article will walk through some troubleshooting steps to take if the projector is showing no signal.

the If projector screen is blue or has a Life.Church logo and no signal in the bottom left corner

Start by making sure that the projector is set to HDMI input.

Start by making sure the projector source is set to the HDMI input.

Check this by looking at the bottom left corner, under where it says "No Signal".

If the projector is set to anything other than HDMI, use the Epson remote to select HDMI as the input.

If HDMI is selected, check that the system is powered on.

Check the System Power:

LynTec controls most of the A/V system power in each room. The rack will have a "Fire It Up" button, an "On" button, or may even be controlled by a light switch. Check and ensure the light switch is in the "On" position, the green "On" button is lit, or if you have a "Fire It Up" button, push the button to double check that LynTec has been powered on.

The easiest way to check power starts at the rack below the desk. At the top of the rack, look for a green dot on the power conditioner. This is labeled "1" in the picture below. If this light is not on, flip the power switch next to the light to turn the power conditioner on.

After the system is turned on, if you are still not seeing video, plug in a Life.Church staff member's laptop to the HDMI desk input box that is on the desk to check for signal. If the laptop screen does not come up on the Projector, click here.

Sometimes the video system needs a jump in order to recognize the Apple TV. Unplug the Laptop, and you may see the Apple TV output pop up. If the output does not display on the projector after unplugging, please continue the Video Signal Flow Troubleshooting section below.

Before starting this section, make sure you have a flashlight or a source light.

If you can see the HDMI switcher, make sure that it is also powered on. If powered on, you will see multiple green lights on the front face of the switcher.

While looking at the video switcher, use the picture below as a reference showing which green lights should be lit up, and which should not.

If the correct lights are on, make sure all HDMI cables are securely plugged into the back of the video switcher.

The next component in the chain is an HDMI splitter, which should have a red light on it. If the red light is visible, make sure that all three HDMI cables are securely plugged in. If the red light is not visible, ensure the power cable is securely plugged in.

There are two HDMI cables on the right side of the splitter, one by the power cable, and one HDMI cable on the left side of the splitter.

The last component that the video signal passes through before going to the projector is a red video converter made by Decimator.

Settings are nearly impossible to change on this because of it's location, so all that's needed is to make sure the decimator has power and that both the HDMI and SDI video cables are plugged in securely.

A quick and easy way to make sure that the Decimator has power is to look at the screen that is on the top of the unit. Most of these screens are set to never turn off. If the screen is not lit up, hit any of the four rubber buttons on the top of the decimator to see if the screen lights up. The Decimator has power if the screen turns on after pressing one of these buttons.

If the Decimator screen does not light up, locate the power cable that is plugged into the front of the Decimator, and follow it until you see the plug-in (shown below) at the other end. If it is plugged into an outlet securely, please contact the Tech Help Desk: (405) 216-2846.

After going through these troubleshooting steps and you still do not see video on the projector screen, please contact the Tech Help Desk: (405) 216-2846.

If the Screen is Black and No Life.Church Logo or "No Signal":

Verify the projector has power. The easiest way to verify this is by looking at the blue indicator lights on the bottom of the projector.

If the projector is powered on, you will see two blue lights on the bottom. For more info on what each light indicates, click here.

Then check to make sure the video source (Apple TV) has power, and that the HDMI cable is securely plugged into the back.

Check to make sure the HDMI Switcher is set correctly. Use the image below to reference which green lights should be lit and which should not.

If the green lights do not match this HDMI Switcher please contact the Life.Church Tech Help Desk: (405) 216-2846, as changing these can get complicated and we'd love to help figure them out.
