Projector looking blurry? This will explain 2 different methods of focusing your projectors. THIS APPLIES TO ALL PROJECTORS IN THE BUILDING, EVEN KONNECT/LOOP!
Whichever method you choose to use, be sure to explore the "Focus Test Pattern" in ProPresenter. We use this a lot as a tool to help see text in all sections of the screen at once.
These are GREAT tools to use during this process. To open up the Test Pattern menu, click VIEW, and Test Pattern from the top menu bar.
When the window shown below pops up, select FOCUS, and hit SHOW FOCUS on the bottom of the window.
This is our suggested method of focusing the projector. If you cannot find a remote, or need to do this without a focus menu showing on the projector, move along to "With the computer".
Start by grabbing the remote, and if the projector is not already on, turn it on.
Once the projector is on, show an image on it, and hit the FOCUS button, in the LENS section of the remote.
When you see these arrows pop up on the projector screen, use the big left and right arrows on your remote to adjust until the image is as clear as you can get it.
Remember to point the remote at the PROJECTOR, and NOT the screen while doing this!
Once the image is as clear as you can get it, hit the ESC button on your remote to clear of out of the focus menu.
There is certainly a way to do this through the web! This method can be a little tricky, but is best to use in an emergency, because it does not show the focus menu on screen while you are adjusting. In most cases, we suggest just using the remote.
Head to your ProPresenter computer and open up safari. You will have bookmarks underneath the URL bar that you can click to open up projector control. If your ProPresenter computer is not available, you can reach out to anyone on the Central Tech Team to get the needed IP address. When you click the bookmark, or enter the IP address. When you do, this window will pop up.
When this comes up, go to the URL bar, and delete EVERYTHING after the IP address.
Next, Hit "Lens Control"
Now, use the arrows on your screen to adjust the focus of your projector lens. The web takes a second to talk to the projector, so BE PATIENT when using this method.
There is no way of telling if you need to hit the "+" or "-" to focus the projector lens ahead of time. Start with a small adjustment, about 5 clicks in one way, to determine if you need to be clicking the "+" or "-". If the picture moves further out of focus, you know you need to use the other button. If the picture starts to clear up, keep pressing that same button. When the picture starts to look close to perfect, slow down. On the first adjustment that the picture starts to get out of focus again, stop, and undo your last adjustment to get the lens back to perfectly in focus.
Once the projector is as clear as you can get it, you're done! Good Work!
