How to setup baptism camera

Updated on

The baptism cameras we use have come a long way and this article will help you understand exactly how to setup the Marshall Baptism Camera.   You'll only need to plug in two cables!   Our cameras are small, compact, cute little guys that are simple to setup and easy to use.

LOCATE THE BAPTISM CAMERA AND THE TRIPOD

Every campus stores it in a different area.  We'd recommend just under the stage in the same place you leave the cables that plug into it.  Closer to the back wall is preferred to avoid damage if something is pushed under the stage.

TRIPOD: EXPAND IT!

Unlock and expand all three legs then crank up the top head as high as it will go.

We don't spend a lot of money on tripods so please be gentle with them and make sure they get locked down after you expand all the pieces.

PLUG IN THE TWO CONNECTORS

The most important part is to plug in the two connectors.

1.  The Video Signal - BNC Connector

2.  The Power Adapter

Please DO NOT Unplug the two connectors on the camera.

We've left you two easy connections down lower on the tripod.

SWITCHER SETUP : NEXT STEP

The next step is to setup the Video Switcher/Router to receive the signal from the camera.  If you've never done this step please get help by another staff member who has done it.  The article below will help guide you through the process to change the router.

Select the article below that applies to your location.

Tip: Storing the Camera and Tripod

The camera and tripod should NEVER be separated.   We go to great lengths to zip tie it all together so it looks pretty and stay simple to use; please, leave it that way!

Fold it all up and unplug the two connectors and store the camera and tripod together in a safe place.   A safe place free from movement and the possibility of it getting stepped on.  Some locations store it under the stage, which is fine, but please make sure it's not an area that other things are stored and moved often.   Please take care of the cute little thing!

Please don't unplug the power coupler pictured.   This should be taped together and stays with the tripod.

Please don't unplugged the two connectors on the back of the camera.
